The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature

Cause: Arts & Culture
Mission: To engage and inspire learners of all ages; we protect, interpret and communicate scientific and cultural knowledge of Florida, the world, and our universe.
THE ONLY NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM ON THE GULF COAST, The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature—formerly South Florida Museum—is a premier attraction in downtown Bradenton and a vital part of the region’s education, tourism and quality of life.
A state-of-the-art Planetarium, the Parker Manatee Rehabilitation Habitat, the new Mosaic Backyard Universe (opening later this fall), live presentations and changing exhibitions help visitors explore the universe, natural history and the life of our planet from a distinctively Florida perspective.
The Bishop offers changing programs for students and curious people of all ages, including kids’ programs such as summer science camps, IQuest for smart and curious middle schoolers, and KidSpace live star talks. As a place of lifelong learning, we also offer adult programs including think + drink/science discussions, Stelliferous live star talks and Lunch & Learn lectures and workshops.
