The Venice Symphony is celebrating its 44th season as a professional orchestra in Sarasota County, performing classical and pops concerts from November through May at the Venice Performing Arts Center. Its accomplished musicians hail from a variety of backgrounds and with a wealth of national and international performance and recording experience. This season, The Venice Symphony presents “7 Conductors 7 Concerts: Finding Maestro,” the culmination of a Conductor Search that narrowed a field of 164 applicants to seven.  One guest conductor will be named Maestro for 2018-19 and beyond.

For nearly three decades, The Venice Symphony has been a leader in music education. The Symphony is honored to partner with the Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute for Symphony in the Schools (SITS), presenting an interactive curriculum and performances by Symphony musicians to third-grade students throughout the County. The grand finale is a concert at the VPAC, all at no cost to the schools. Summer music camp offers students the opportunity to improve their performance skills, learn new instruments, and to take classes in musical theater, theory, and more. More than half the students receive scholarship assistance to attend the camp. In 2018, The Venice Symphony will launch a youth symphony orchestra.

The Venice Symphony is supported by ticket sales, fundraisers, and the generous support of donors, funders and community grants.  To learn more, visit thevenicesymphony.org
