Southeastern Guide Dogs

For 10 years, David Gonzalez served his country and the Marine Corps, including two Middle Eastern tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. The memories came home, too, and post-traumatic stress disorder robbed his ability to connect with his young family. David found courage to seek wholeness and turned to Southeastern Guide Dogs for Stella, a trained service dog and hope-with-four-paws. “Stella focuses me and gets me through the things I’m going through. I had been staying at home and not wanting to do anything,” he says. “Now, she gets me out with the kids running around and I can bond with everybody.”
