An anonymous donor has gifted $1 million to Florida Studio Theatre as a matching gift challenge to support the development of FST's new McGillicuddy Arts Plaza. 

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County recently issued grants totaling nearly $900,000 to 19 nonprofits to boost their educational opportunities for young people and make their programming more accessible to local families, among other causes. 

The Consortium of Florida Education Foundations has awarded the Education Foundation of Sarasota County $103,754.03 in matching funds through the School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program.

Gulf Coast Community Foundation recently awarded the Sarasota Ballet a $65,000 Empowering Arts Grant.

Freedom House Manasota was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of  Sarasota County to support Recovery Peer Support  Services.

The Manatee Literacy Council was recently awarded an $80,000 grant from Bishop-Parker Foundation to strengthen staffing to support its expanding English and literacy programs for adults in Manatee County. The organization also recently received a $14,704 grant from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation to modernize its technology infrastructure and enhance digital learning, and a $10,000 grant from Peace Presbyterian Church to support its in-person adult
ESL classes.

All Star Children Foundation raised more than $750,000 to support its programs at its third annual Twinkle Ball.

The Venice Symphony recently raised more than $45,000 at its Jukebox Brunch. 

Laurel Civic Association, Inc. recently received a $5,000 grant from Publix Super Markets Charities to support Kids Café, part of its Youth Empowerment Program.

Harvest House has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Community
Foundation of Sarasota County to support its Wellness Within Reach initiative, an onsite mental health service designed to remove barriers to care, especially for families, youth, and individuals experiencing homelessness, trauma, or housing instability.
