Barancik Foundation Awards $6 Million in Grants

The Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation’s board of directors recently approved $6 million in grants to improve access to quality education, expand human services for vulnerable community members, strengthen local arts programs and more.
The Community Foundation of Sarasota County recently awarded $322,450 in grants to 29 nonprofits serving Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto and Charlotte counties. Funding will support education, health care, basic needs and strategic development.
Resilient Retreat has received a grant of $98,442 from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County through the Suncoast Disaster Relief Fund to support the launch of its "Community Recovery Through Resiliency Building" initiative, a two-pronged program aimed at fostering long-term recovery and resilience among first responders and helping professionals impacted by recent hurricanes in the region.
Forty Carrots Family Center recently received a $50,000 grant from the Bishop-Parker Foundation to support its programming for expecting and post-partum parents and infants.
The Glenridge at Palmer Ranch recently awarded 30 scholarships of $4,000 each to staff members through the Mary Nesbit Glenridge Academy Scholarship Fund and The Pezzillo Art Fund.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties recently received a grant of $20,250 from The Henson Fund to provide scholarships for up to 100 underserved children to attend the Boys & Girls Clubs' summer youth program.
The Henson Fund also recently awarded a $65,000 grant to Girls Inc. to ensure that girls from low-income households have access to a safe learning environment over the summer.
Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation's 23rd golf tournament recently raised more than $110,000 for the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Physicians Endowment, which provides continuing education opportunities for Sarasota Memorial Health Care System staff.
