Goodwill Manasota recently hired Katie Van Gompel as its vice president of marketing. The organization also announced its 2025-2026 board of directors. Former Manatee County commissioner Elizabeth “Betsy” Benac is now in her second year as chair, and new director Jon Kaupla has joined the volunteer leadership body in addition to Xtavia Bailey, Steve Boone (past chair), Rich Cautero, Debbie Douglas, Eric Kaplan, James McClure, Rob Morris, Laurie O’Loughlin, Laura Ritchey and Allen Weinstein. Rod Hollingsworth and Brad West's whose terms ended this past year.

The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art has named Lindsey Hewitt and Alexander Buchheit its first David W. and Mary S. Benfer Curatorial Research Fellows. Hewitt will work in the European art department under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Cartwright, the chief curator and Ulla R. Searing Curator of Collections, and Buchheit will work in the circus department under the supervision of Jennifer Lemmer Posey, the Tibbals Curator of Circus.
