Sarasota Opera recently expanded its development staff. The organization named longtime employee Brenda Tamm as its patron giving and operations manager. Tamm has been with the company since 2015 and most recently served as individual giving officer. The opera also hired Davis Wolfe as patron giving associate and Karen Misantone as leadership giving officer.

First 1,000 Days Suncoast, which works to connect local families with community organizations that offer essential resources and support, recently named Renee King as the initiative’s newest family navigator. In the role, King will guide families through the complexities of accessing services during pregnancy and the first 1,000 days of a child's life.

The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce recently awarded five students from the Youth Leadership Sarasota program with scholarships to participate in the chamber’s Youth Leadership program thanks to support from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. The recipients of the $175 scholarships are Kezia Alvin, Alvin Luu, William Pope, Chantal Usubillaga and Christine Wu.
