Barancik Foundation Awards $5 Million in Grants

Plus, Impact100 SRQ names its 2024 grant recipients and more.

Seven local organizations received a $109,000 grant from Impact100 SRQ.

The Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation’s board of directors recently approved more than $5 million in grants to regional nonprofit organizations working in education, mental health, humanitarian causes, and arts and culture. The recipients are FUNducation, Inc., Manatee Education Foundation, State College of Florida Foundation, Harvest House, Turning Points, Women’s Resource Center, Margwine Organization, Chicago Botanic Garden, SRQ Strong, Azara Ballet, CreArte Latino Cultural CenterFirst 1,000 Days Suncoast and the Barancik Foundation’s Affordable Housing initiative. The Barancik Foundation board also seeded a new evaluation fund with $200,000 to provide training and resources for nonprofit organizations to increase their program evaluation and fundraising capacity.

Impact100 SRQ recently announced its seven 2024 grant recipients, who will each receive a $109,000 grant. They are Art Center SarasotaGirl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida Inc., The Paul A. and Veronica H. Gross Wildlife Center of Southwest Florida, Legal Aid of Manasota, Teen Court of SarasotaEasterseals Southwest Floridaand Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the Suncoast.

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County has awarded the Venice Symphony a $40,000 grant for its Patriotic Pops concert in May 2024.

The Bishop Parker Foundation Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation has awarded a grant of $10,000 to Goodwill Manasota to provide upskilling opportunities to veterans through Goodwill’s American Veterans and Their Families program.

Sarasota Opera has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Jay K. Turner Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation to expand its education outreach activities through the Resident Artist program in Manatee County schools.
