Sarasota Art Museum Announces 2023-2024 Teen Arts Council

Plus, the Venice Symphony names a new development manager and ensembleNEWSRQ names its first general manager.

Sarasota Art Museum’s Teen Arts Council (TAC) 2023-2024 class with Flora Major, whose support established the Kutya Major Sarasota Art Museum Internship Program, also known as SAM TAC.

Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College of Art and Design has announced the second class of the Teen Arts Council (TAC) for 2023-2024.  The council includes Simon Orduno (Florida Virtual School/Suncoast Technical College), Natalie Donaldson (Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School), Isa Esquivel (Manatee School for the Arts), Berkeley Maecker (Manatee High School), Izabella DeToma (The Out-of-Door Academy), Kimora Lewis (Booker High School), Max Rizzo (Lakewood Ranch High School), Ash McGuire (Florida Virtual School), Kate Smith (Riverview High School), Brooke Yerger (Manatee High School), Scarlett-Rose Austin (Booker High School), Marley Bean (Booker High School) and Addison Hurt (Manatee School for the Arts).

The Venice Symphony has announced that Erica Bacacio has joined the organization as development manager. 

EnsembleNEWSRQ has named Kate Mulligan as general manager. Mulligan most recently served as the executive director of Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey.

Hershorin Schiff Community Day School, a Jewish day school that serves children of all faiths in preschool through eighth grade, has announced its 2023-2024 board of trustee. The president of the board is Rachel Saltzberg, vice-pesident is Barbara Rodkin, treasurer is Melissa Walsh and secretary is Robert Landman. New to the board this year are Colleen BlumenthalBenjamin Edelman, Nikhil "Nik" Joshi and returning member Dr. Wendy Katz. They join trustees Lori Dorman, Gregory Farrington, Lillian Lincoln Lambert, Rabbi Michael Shefrin, Rick Siegel and Fred Starling. Richard Hershorin is a lifetime member; due to the recent and untimely death of former board president Mitch Blumenthal, the board also granted him posthumous lifetime member status.

Child welfare agency Safe Children Coalition has announced its 2023-2024 board of directors. Brian D. Goodrich is the new chair of the board, Lee Lipton is vice-chair and Tony Gamelin is treasurer. New members are Arlene Buckmaster and Rob Goldstein; they join continuing directors Ken Alexander, Jamara Clark, David Fairey, Ann Marie Jones and Michael Rahn (immediate past chair).
