Selby Gardens Head Named Chair of Visit Florida Board

Plus, Ringling College names a new VP of academic affairs and retired pharma exec Bob Essner has been named to the board of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation.

Visit Florida has elected Jennifer O. Rominiecki, president and CEO of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, as its board chair for the 2023-24 fiscal year. Rominiecki, who is currently vice-chair of Visit Florida's board, will begin her one-year term as Chair on July 1.

Ringling College of Art and Design has announced the appointment of Tiffany Holmes as vice-president for academic affairs.

Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation has announced the appointment of a new board member: Robert Essner. Essner is the retired chairman of the board and CEO of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Friends of Myakka River State Park, a local nonprofit organization that supports Myakka River State Park, has hired Miri Hardy as its executive director.

Samantha McKee has joined Tidewell Foundation as a philanthropy advisor. She will support Tidewell’s “Grateful Families” program, helping families memorialize loved ones through gifts to the Foundation.

The Florida Bicycle Association has appointed Rich Garrett to its statewide board of directors.

Danielle Hughes, team coordinator of the Child Protection Team (CPT) at the Child Protection Center (CPC), has been named next year’s co-chair of Sarasota County’s Sexual Abuse Response Team (SART). This will be Danielle’s second time serving as a chair for SART.

Forty Carrots Family Center has welcomed new board members Monica Van Buskirk and Brian Volner.  They will both serve three-year terms supporting Forty Carrots' mission of nurturing healthy child and family development and preventing child abuse, neglect, and other childhood traumas.
