The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature is partnering with the Toomey Foundation for the Natural Sciences to offer students ages 11 to 14 in Manatee County the opportunity to participate in a week-long educational and paleontological expedition to the Nebraska Badlands.

During this week-long expedition—scheduled for June 4 to 12, 2022—a student and their guardian will have the opportunity to participate in paleontological field work with guidance from experts. The group will also spend time exploring surrounding educational sites such as Mount Rushmore, Custer National Park, Wind Cave and local museums, with specific sites to be determined.

The number of open spots is limited to eight pirs of students and guardians. The cost is $800 per pair (one student and one guardian) plus airfare. For more information and to apply, click here. The application deadline is February 15, 2022.
