Downtown Sarasota Lanes Closed Until 6 A.M.
FDOT crews are removing the existing curb, median and HAWK pedestrian crossing at First Street in preparation for roundabout construction.
The signalized pedestrian crosswalk at U.S. 41 and First Street is now disconnected.

The City of Sarasota has announced that the inside travel lanes at U.S. 41 and Gulfstream Avenue will be temporarily closed on July 29 starting at 8 p.m. as FDOT Southwest Florida crews remove the existing curb, median and HAWK pedestrian crossing at First Street in preparation for roundabout construction. Work is expected to start at 8 p.m. and continue overnight until 6 a.m. on July 30.
