Sarasota County to Host Community Cleanup in Lake Sarasota Area June 12

Discarded household items, appliances, junk, tree trimmings and other garbage will be collected at Sarasota Baptist Church.

Sarasota County will hold a free community cleanup in the Lake Sarasota area from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 12. Discarded household items, appliances, junk, tree trimmings and other garbage will be collected at Sarasota Baptist Church, 7091 Proctor Road, Sarasota.

Sarasota County staff will require vehicles to queue at this site in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In addition, county staff will not be able to handle any materials brought to the site due to CDC health and safety guidelines. Masks are also required.

Hazardous waste, auto parts, commercial printers and tires over 26-by-16, will not be accepted at the listed location. However, these materials may be taken to the Sarasota County Chemical Collection Center 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. The centers are located at 8750 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota; and 250 S. Jackson Road, Venice.
