The Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance has announced the finalists for its 2020 "Sandies" awards. Winners will be announced during a virtual presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The alliance is also celebrating its 15th anniversary.

This year's finalists are Circus Arts Conservatory, Grapevine Communications and SANCA at Nathan Benderson Park (Bull by the Horns award, company under 25 employees); Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County, Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee and Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium (Bull by the Horns award, company over 25 employees); and Fawley Bryant Architecture, Michael Saunders & Company and Willis Smith Construction (community champion award). Lisa Kirkland, Peggy Kronus and Amanda Parrish are nominated for the individual community champion award, and Alex Gault, Jeff Toale and Alexa Troche Finn are nominated for the Rising Star award.
