Commercial real estate firm Ian Black Real Estate has hired Steven Larkin as sales associate. Larkin has more than 40 years of experience in commercial real estate, focusing largely on the retail vertical. Prior to joining Ian Black Real Estate, Larkin served as the director of store development for Detwiler Farm Market, where he led the successful opening of two new large-format concepts. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism; prior to entering the commercial real estate market, he served as a broadcast journalist, covering the booming real estate market. He later earned his master’s degree in land development, also from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
