Island Village Montessori School (IVMS) has announced a master plan for consolidation of its Sarasota and Venice campuses for the 2020-2021 school year. The plan envisions expanding the Venice campus, which accommodates children from kindergarten through eighth grade and includes a private preschool in an environment where outdoor spaces are incorporated into the curriculum. IVMS will offer placement to current Sarasota students at the Venice campus and will work with parents to determine whether steps can be taken to provide families with transportation or other support to assist in the transition. Informational meetings and Venice campus tours will be offered to all Sarasota families; all ideas will be considered to manage the transition with minimal interruption, including possible modifications of the Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota bus routes. The 100-acre Sarasota campus, located at 11011 Clark Road, is owned by the school and is listed for sale by Susan Repp of Coldwell Banker.
