Goodwill Manasota (experiencegoodwill.org) recently received 140 personal computers from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (sarasotasheriff.org). The computers will be securely wiped, refurbished and sold at Goodwill’s Tech Connection center.

 


 

 

About 200 Morgan Stanley (morganstanley.com) employees and clients attending the Vita Vining Hermann Denton Group’s annual Christmas party were asked to bring toys and other goods for donation to Goodwill Manasota and nonperishable food items for the Food Bank of Manatee to celebrate the “Spirit of Giving” theme. Party guests brought nearly 500 pounds of food, toys and other goods.

 


 

 

ZipKord Solutions (zipkord.com) partnered with the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast (conservationfoundation.com) to plant 10 mangrove trees along the shoreline at Bay Preserve at Osprey as part of the company’s commitment to giving back to the environment. This is the first business to partner with Conservation Foundation to coordinate a mangrove planting event in the community.

 


 

 

The Rick and Nancy Moskovitz Foundation donated $2 million toward the new Mote Marine Laboratory (mote.org) research and education facility in the Florida Keys—the largest donation to date for the planned building. The gift brings total donations for the new facility to more than $3 million.

 


 

 

Realtors at SaraBay Real Estate (sarabay.com) collected more than three large boxes of toys that will be delivered to underprivileged children at its Toys for Tots (toysfortotssarasota.org) event Saturday.

 


 

 

The Liberty Tax Service (libertytax.com) office on Lockwood Ridge Road will hold a food drive to support the Food Bank of Manatee (foodbankofmanatee.org). The campaign starts Jan. 2 during the office’s 2016 Kickoff Party. Guests are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to the roadside party for donations.

 


 

 

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast (bbbssun.org) has been awarded a $10,000 grant by the Wilson-Wood Foundation and has received $2,000 from The Zimmer Family Foundation (zimmerfamilyfoundation.com), $2,000 from the Heron Creek Community Foundation (heroncreekfoundation.org) and $1,200 from the Venice Yacht Club (veniceyachtclub.com).
