Gulf Coast Community Foundation approved a $40,000 grant to Florida Studio Theatre for FST’s 2014-2015 Winter Mainstage and Cabaret seasons and to co-produce two performances during the 2015 Summer Season, which will be announced this spring. The funds were made possible through the Venice Endowment Fund.

The Patterson Foundation bestowed a one-time gift of $20,000 to Embracing Our Differences for the organization’s help in providing transportation to more than 3,000 area school students to attend a screening of “We the People,” one of the highlights of the Veterans Legacy Film Festival.

In recognition of its 85th anniversary, Sarasota Music Club selected 10 Sarasota and Manatee County nonprofit organizations to receive $8,500 in donations. Donations of $1,000 went to Key Chorale, the Pops Orchestra, Senior Friendship Centers, Sarasota Young Voices, Gloria Musicae, Exsultate! Venice’s Chorale and Artist Series Concerts. The organizations that received a $500 donation include the First Brass of Sarasota, Sigma Alpha Iota and Belle Canto.

SWAT Networking—Successful Women Aligning Together—collected funds at its monthly chapter meetings throughout 2014 and randomly selected The Center for Building Hope as the nonprofit recipient of a nearly $2,400 donation.
