The Florida Swimming Pool Association contributed $1,000 to the Kids Swim Fund at Gulf Coast Community Foundation, which pays for water safety lessons for second graders in Sarasota County. Donations of $500 each from the association’s Manasota Chapter and its statewide Swimming Pool Education and Safety Foundation will provide a week of free water-safety lessons to two classes of children.


The Rotary Club of Englewood, with help from Rotary District 6960, awarded a $2,000 grant to the Englewood Community Care Clinic to purchase medical office supplies. The clinic, located at 6868 San Casa Drive, has served more than 1,700 patients since opening in January 2011.



Atlas Insurance honored Loveland Village with the 2014 Lee Brown Award, named for Atlas’ founder, and an accompanying $2,500 donation.


As part of the Webster Works Worldwide 2014 community service project, Webster University employees partnered with the Salvation Army of Manatee County for the Angel Tree Project, helping organize the angels for the sponsoring corporations and families.
