Neal Communities has donated $10,000 as lead sponsor of a fifth annual golf tournament to benefit B.D. Gullett Elementary School in Lakewood Ranch. This year’s tournament, which raised a total of nearly $20,000, drew 86 golfers and community leaders. The funds will help supply new laptops and computer equipment for the school. Neal Communities also recently pledged two $20,000 donations for a new LED screen and scoreboard in the Venice High School gymnasium.

 


 

Bank of America has donated a lot and contributed funds for the first Veterans Build home for Habitat for Humanity Sarasota. Employees of the bank will also help build the home, which is located at 2839 Rainbow Circle, Sarasota. A groundbreaking is scheduled 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Nov. 9. This is the 200th home built by Habitat Sarasota since it was founded in 1985.

 


 

Bradenton PC Repair and Last 7 Studios have partnered with the Veterans of America Hospital at Bay Pines to provide laptops and portable devices to wounded veterans returning to the area. The goal of the project is to help vets keep in touch with family and friends while they are recuperating and to help them prepare to join the workforce. Bradenton PC Repair wills start collecting devices on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, and will refurbish them for donation.

 


 

Gateway Bank of Southwest Florida has donated $1,515 to Manasota BUDS (Bringing Up Down Syndrome). The funds were raised by bank employees who participated in the organization’s “Buddy Walk” last month. Gateway Bank also supplied a $500 corporate donation.

 


 

Jennifer Soos-Brancifort and Salvatore Brancifort, co-owners of myunionhouse, are donating their photography services for “Feed-a-Family with Holiday Portraits,” a fund raiser for All Faiths Food Bank, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Met, 35 S. Boulevard of the Presidents, St. Armands Circle. Call (941) 388-3991 to reserve a session time with an optional donation, and receive a 10 percent discount when you place an order at the store during the event.
