For the second year in a row, Lakewood Ranch has been recognized as the best-selling master-planned multi-generational community in the country by independent consulting firms RCLCO and John Burns Real Estate Consulting. It saw 1,655 new home sales in 2019, up from 1,479 in 2018 and  exceeding the average growth of 8 percent on the top-selling list, RCLCO officials said. RCLO also ranked Lakewood Ranch No. 2 on its “Best of the Decade” list. The community currently offers buyers 17 villages to choose from, with homes ranging from $200,000 to more than $1 million. In 2020, five new villages and an apartment community are scheduled to open. It also has the ability to offer up to 14 million square feet of commercial real estate space, and is home to 1,350 businesses across a variety of sectors, including  biomedical, technology, insurance and education.
