In the spirit of “the show must go on,” a circa-1916 Craftsman-style home at 1657 Alta Vista St. in Sarasota’s Bungalow Hill has been chosen at the last minute to be the 2020 Jewels on the Bay Showhouse.

The 25th annual Designer Showhouse, whose proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County, had been canceled two weeks ago after the owner of the original home chosen, a historic red brick residence at 1319 S. Orange Ave., couldn’t get building permits in time for improvements to be made.

Organizers were able to make an agreement with the owners of the Alta Vista home, which is currently for sale with Kim Ogilvie of Michael Saunders & Company and had been on the 2012 Alliance for Historic Preservations Historic Homes tour. Seventeen area interior designers will decorate each room with the latest design trends and products.

The Showhouse will be open to the public March 15-April 12. Details can be found here.
