The Sarasota and Bradenton markets saw 1,276 new single-family home starts in the fourth quarter of last year, a 3.7 percent increase over the fourth quarter of 2016, according to new data published by Metrostudy, a real estate research firm. The fourth quarter number was, however, down 15.4 percent from the third quarter of 2017.
