Home Sales Up, Condo Sales Down

The number of single family home sales in Sarasota County increased by 8.3 percent between April 2016 and last month, while Manatee County experienced a 1.5 percent increase.

The number of single family home sales in Sarasota County increased by 8.3 percent between April 2016 and last month, while Manatee County experienced a 1.5 percent increase, according to new numbers compiled by the Realtor Association of Sarasota and Manatee. Condo sales, however decreased: Sarasota County condo sales declined by 0.3 percent and Manatee County sales dropped by 22 percent. Homes and condos are both taking longer to sell. Between April 2016 and April 2017, the time on market for Sarasota single family homes increased from 35 days to 45, and the time for condos increased from 35 days to 46. In Manatee County, the time on market for single family homes increased to 46 days from 38 last year, while condos rose from 33 days last year to 50 days this year.
