Sarasota's oldest performing arts organization, The Players, officially announced on Monday that it will move to Lakewood Ranch. The community theater will change its name to The Players Centre for Performing Arts and launch a new capital campaign to fund the move. The center is set to open in three years and will house a 480-seat auditorium with balcony seating, a 125-seat black box theater, a 100-seat cabaret stage with food service and the main campus for the organization's educational arm, all on 4.5 acres of land.
