Earlier this week, we reported that Caldwell Trust Company, which is celebrating 20 years in business next month, recently broke ground on new headquarters at 1400 Center Road, Venice. Here are some more details about the 11,500-square-foot building, which is estimated to cost approximately $2.5 million.

The new location will be an increase in space from 6,500 to 11,500 square feet. The building, courtyard and two parking lots will occupy four acres of a 10-acre wooded site. The one-story headquarters will include private offices, conference rooms, space for computers and proprietary software, a library, catering kitchen, print shop and workout room. Holly Logan, an interior designer with H.V. Logan Design, says that “It will be a fairly traditional building with timeless design, cutting-edge technology and classic materials.” The building will be constructed to withstand winds up to 180 miles per hour, with concrete ceilings in the vault area. Caldwell Trust is employing local contractors and professionals for the project, which is estimated for completion in November 2014.

The company, which now has more than $650 million in assets under management, will continue to operate its 3,600-square-foot facility at 1561 Main St., Sarasota.

WRC Florida, LLC has purchased a 1,790-square-foot office condominium located at 2639 Fruitville Road, #201, Sarasota, from Foundation Park Offices, LLC for $358,000. Jo Dawn Martin with Coldwell Banker represented the buyer, and Diane Lawson with the Sperry Van Ness Commercial Advisory Group represented the seller.

 


 

Dwell Real Estate, LLC has leased 2,387 square feet of office space located at 1626 Ringling Blvd., Suite 101, Sarasota. The company plans to relocate its downtown office to the new space. Mike Migone with Sperry Van Ness Commercial Advisory Group handled the transaction.

 


 

Alexandra Shields has leased 985 square feet in MiraMar Plaza, 41-79 S. Palm Ave., Sarasota. Diane Lawson and Linda Emery with Sperry Van Ness Commercial Advisory Group handled the transaction. They are the exclusive leasing agents for the MiraMar Plaza.
