BEDROOM BLAST

Want to be part of an emerging trend in home décor? Try making a dramatic statement in your bedroom with an upholstered bed wall from Robb & Stucky. The home décor powerhouse offers a versatile selection for creating visual interest in the boudoir. First, select an upholstered headboard to fit a king- or queen-size bed. Then select a pair of upholstered panels, either 41 or 33 inches in length. According to Kris Kolar, vice president of interior design for Robb & Stucky, “Panels can be hung on either side of the headboard or the look can be customized by hanging the panels vertically over the headboard—perfect for tall loft spaces.” Another option: Use the two 41-inch panels as twin headboards in a guest room.

HIGH POINT HIGHS

Sarasota designer Sally Trout returned from the renowned High Point Market in October with a treasure trove of fantastic new products and future trends. Starting with colors, the market showed a future filled with softer, warmer hues. “Definitely more pastels,” says Trout, including pale yellows, soft golds, pale pink and blush, accented with clay, taupe, cream and driftwood tones.

For décor, Trout points to well-established furniture companies such as Century, Kindel and Hickory Chair teaming up with well-known designers like Alexa Hampton, Suzanne Kasier and Richard Frinier to introduce fresh and new designs. “All of these manufacturers are offering an array of fabulous finishes such as Swedish grey, weathered parchment, vintage Venetian blue and rustic vermillion,” says Trout. “The choices are endless.

“This is where it really pays to hire a licensed interior designer to help you navigate through the myriad selections to give you a unique and up-to-date look—as well as realistic pricing.” [Sally Trout (FL Lic. #0002504)]

Custom bed coverings are also available. Towels that are absorbent and feel great are stocked in myriad colors and textures.

Custom window treatments from the simple to the sublime are designed and manufactured by the Sarasota Collection Home Store. Shutters, wood blinds, sheer weave shades, Roman shades, woven woods and just about any other window covering are installed by their expert technicians.

And if all those furniture pieces, linens and window treatments also enough, you have your pick from an expansive collection of rugs, lamps, accessories and gifts.

Available as wall mounts, for coffee tables or as outdoor modules, the mobile fires have dancing flames in natural, intense colors. Inspired by contemporary art and lifestyle, the fires take that traditional element and modernize it for your interior.

There’s even an aromatherapy set, which uses a glass bowl containing aroma oil placed on the edge of the glass cylinder that surrounds the flame. The result is a pleasant aroma creating an atmosphere ideal for stress relief and mood improvement.

Mobile fires are on display exclusively at Light Up Your Life.
