House plants have been all the rage since the beginning of the pandemic. Since 2020, about 38 million households in the U.S. participated in indoor houseplant gardening and spent about $1.67 billion on house plants.
If you want to join in the fun, search local farmers' markets for Fancy Leaf Plant Co. and its adorable pink and white trailer carrying tons of hanging plants and succulents. The Parrish-based shop is the latest plant nursery to open in town. Owned by Libby Bolles and her mother Jody Nader, Fancy Leaf specializes in a boutique shopping experience while catering to every Millennial and Gen-Zer's dream thanks to its fun, aesthetically pleasing plants and accessories—and all that Millennial pink.
Fancy Leaf Plant Co. opened in October 2021 on U.S. 301. Outside, you'll find a chalkboard showing off the "specials" for that day.
When you arrive at the shop, you are greeted with a waft of gorgeous, earthy smells and a whole lot of fresh oxygen to breathe thanks to all those plants. Stroll through perfectly decorated stands of cacti, succulents, hanging plants and even merchandise like T-shirts, canvas bags, gardening accessories and planters.
While you can just purchase plants, you can also learn how to keep certain plants alive from the time they are just sprouts, like the ever-so-popular monstera and fiddle leaf fig plants. You could also go with a classic fern or spice up your indoor space with a philodendron—one of the easiest and prettiest house plants to maintain.
If you want to sit and stay awhile, the shop sells Sweet Aroma Coffee Shop's blends. Enjoy a latte, cold brew or tea while sitting on one of the shop's comfy chairs or sofa.
Don't think you have a green thumb? No worries. Fancy Leaf also offers plant design and maintenance services for your house or business. Learn how to water, prune and place plants in the right lighting and stage your home or office with plant life. One of Fancy Leaf's experts can even visit your space to decorate.
Shop in-store or online at Fancy Leaf's website. Plants can be shipped out of state in a special container; Fancy Leaf is also available for pop-up shops at events. If you have a "plant emergency," you can even bring your plants to the store front to have them revived by specialists.
Plants have been scientifically proven to make you feel happier, improve environment and air quality, reduce fatigue and increase productivity. After all, who doesn't want that?
