Sarasota has no shortage of great pizzerias—and now we've got another spot to add to the list.

Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza, the Miami-born concept known for its star-shaped pizzas, will open at The Market at University Town Center on Tuesday, June 23 in a 2,200-square-foot space with indoor and outdoor dining options.

In addition to pies, the pizzeria will offer salads and a burrata bar.

The "O1" in Mister O1's name is a reference to the O-1 visa,  a non-immigrant work permit issued to individuals who possess extraordinary ability in science, the arts (including culinary arts), education, business, or athletics, or who have demonstrated extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry. Renato Viola, the restaurant's Italian chef, was the recipient of an O-1 visa. Viola opened the first Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza in Miami Beach in 2014, and it's now Michelin Guide-recommended; the business has since expanded to include multiple locations in Florida, as well as Georgia, North Carolina and Texas.

Dessert options include a Nutella pie, baked on Mister O1's pizza dough and topped with Nutella and powdered sugar.

Menu items at the UTC location will include Mister O1's signature five-point pizza, including the "Star Luca" with ricotta-filled points; the "Coffee Paolo," made with mozzarella, blue cheese, honey, coffee and spicy salami; calzones; fresh salads; a burrata bar; and desserts including a Nutella pizza and a banana-Nutella calzone. The dough for the pies is made from imported Italian flour and proofed for 72 hours.

MisterO1 Extraordinary Pizza will open Tuesday, June 23, at 5231 University Parkway, Suite 111, Sarasota. For more information, click here.
