Sunday, Sept. 14, marked the start of a brand new farmers market in Palmetto. The North River Community Market is located in "The Yard" outside the Palmetto Marriott Resort & Spa, with products from more than 70 vendors.

Local events production and management company Novan Group plans to host the market one Sunday a month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Palmetto Marriott. Next month, the market is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 12; each following market day will fall on the first Sunday of the month.

"Our goal is to provide a monthly event that showcases the best of our local community while creating a welcoming, vibrant space where people can connect," says Lisa Comeau, an event manager for Novan Group. "The energy at our grand opening was proof that the community was ready for this."

At the market, visitors can expect artisanal goods, fresh produce, scratch-made condiments and local art, alongside live music and a special area for the kids to play.

The North River Community Market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. one Sunday a month at 600 U.S. Highway 41, Palmetto. For more information, click here.
