Another James Beard-nominated chef is bringing his restaurant concept to the area.

This time it's 11-time Beard-nominee chef Sam Fox, who's opening the first Florida location of his popular restaurant Flower Child. Operated by Fox's Phoenix-based Fox Restaurant Concepts, Flower Child focuses on healthy, scratch-made food and serves an array of wholesome dishes ranging from salads to wraps, plus a huge array of vegetable-based bowls.

Not a vegetarian or vegan? Proteins like steak, chicken, salmon and shrimp can be added to each dish for an extra punch.

“We’ve been looking for the right opportunity to bring Flower Child to Florida, and Sarasota is the perfect place to introduce one of our most popular restaurant concepts,” Fox said in a press release. “With its focus on wellness, active living, and a strong sense of community, we can’t wait to be part of this incredible city and provide a space where people can gather and enjoy wholesome, flavorful meals.”

Flower Child is one of more than 10 different restaurant outlets by Fox Restaurant Concepts. Its 3,500 square foot Lakewood Ranch location on University Parkway will be the Flower Child brand’s 41st store. This new spot is set to open in late spring of this year.
