Julie and Ron Milton have sold Cafe L'Europe on St. Armand’s Circle for an undisclosed sum to Amanda and John Horne, owners of the Anna Maria Oyster Bar group of restaurants. The Hornes take over operations from the Miltons—who purchased the restaurant in 2016—on February 1, 2022.

Cafe L’Europe—whose front section was John Ringling's original sales office—was founded in 1973 by restaurateurs Titus Letschert and Norbert Goldner, and numerous local chefs-turned-restaurateurs have worked in its kitchen, including Ray Arpke, J.P. Knaggs and Harry Christensen. In a release, John Horne said he will continue working with current executive chef Nick Sammelman to "reignite culinary innovation on St. Armand’s Circle through cutting edge techniques steeped in classic tradition."
