Autumn is a season of abundance, as farmers gather their harvest, families share meals and communities celebrate the bounty of fresh, local food. Yet for thousands of families in Sarasota and DeSoto counties, nutritious food remains out of reach. Rising grocery prices and the increasing cost of living often force households to forgo healthy options like fresh fruits and vegetables.
Each year, All Faiths Food Bank distributes millions of pounds of fresh produce to help ensure every neighbor has access to nutritious food. In 2025 alone, the organization provided nearly 19 million meals, including 5.8 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables. Through Sept. 30, the Autumn Harvest campaign invites the community to make a meaningful difference during Hunger Action Month. Whether through a donation, volunteer service or participation in a community event, every act of generosity helps provide the nourishment local children, families, seniors and veterans need to thrive.
