SPARCC has been a leading voice in supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Sarasota and DeSoto counties for almost 50 years. Through its 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, legal services, prevention education, and community outreach, SPARCC provides critical services that help survivors and their children find safety, healing, and hope.
Jessica Hays has dedicated nearly two decades to advancing SPARCC’s work. After joining the organization in 2007, she stepped into the role of President & CEO in 2015 and has since led SPARCC through growth, expanded partnerships, and an increasing need for survivor services.
Shelley H.A. Walters-Walker brings years of leadership, involvement, and community partnership to her role as SPARCC Board Chair. As Senior Vice President and East Region Practice Lead at The Northern Trust Company, as well as a longtime donor, community partner, and board member, Shelley is passionate about furthering SPARCC’s mission, increasing awareness, and strengthening community engagement.
Together, their leadership reflects a shared commitment to using their voices, experience, and compassion to help create a safer future free from domestic and sexual violence.
