The University of South Florida, one of the nation’s top public research universities, is deeply rooted in student success and community impact. With nearly 50,000 students across campuses in Sarasota-Manatee, Tampa, and St. Petersburg, USF offers over 200 academic pathways that prepare students for meaningful careers and leadership roles.

At USF Sarasota-Manatee, bold initiatives are driving real change. Building on 50 years of service to the community, none is more transformative than the Collaboratory, launched in spring 2025. Housed in the College of Education, this visionary space unites students, faculty, school district partners, and local organizations for hands-on exploration of emerging technologies, including robotics, drone simulators, virtual and extended reality, and AI.

The Collaboratory is more than a learning lab. It is an engine of innovation, creativity, and collaboration with direct benefits for our region. Donor support fuels this mission, helping students build real-world skills, strengthen our local workforce, and spark lasting change in education and beyond.

Together, USF Sarasota-Mantee is building a future where every student has the tools to lead, and every investment has the power to transform lives.

  • USF generates an annual economic impact of over $6 billion.
  • Ranked among the top 50 public universities for six consecutive years, USF also joined the prestigious Association of American Universities in 2023.
  • The USF Sarasota-Manatee campus has completed major changes, including the opening of the first-ever Student Center and Atala Residence Hall in August 2024 and the College of Education Collaboratory in Spring 2025.
  • USF Sarasota-Manatee surpassed $1 million in scholarship awards this year, more than doubling last year’s total.
