When John first walked through our doors, he wouldn’t speak. The trauma he endured at home had taken his voice, his trust, and his joy. But over weeks of trauma-informed therapy, he began to speak again. To laugh. To play. John’s journey—like so many others—began with someone who cared enough to act. We believe every child deserves that chance.

The Child Protection Center provides life-saving services for children who have suffered from or are vulnerable to child abuse. Serving Sarasota and DeSoto Counties, our extensive programming brings education, intervention services, and trauma-informed care to heal the hearts of survivors.

CPC’s Prevention Program provides free essential child abuse prevention education that has empowered 800,000+ individuals. The Child Protection Team facilitates medical examinations, forensic interviews, and court testimonies in child abuse cases. The Visitation Program provides a safe, neutral environment for non-custodial caregivers to rebuild relationships with their child. Therapy Programs help survivors live a healthy, restored life after their traumas. CPC is the only local no-cost provider specialized in child physical and sexual abuse.
