Founded in 2011, the Library Foundation for Sarasota County raises private support to strengthen, innovate, and advocate for our public libraries. Working in partnership with the Sarasota County Library System and the Friends’ groups at each branch, the foundation helps ensure our libraries have the resources they need to serve our growing community.

• Mission: We champion strong public libraries, support innovation and help to extend the library system’s reach for everyone in Sarasota County.
• Reach: Sarasota County Libraries welcome more than 5,000 visitors each day.
• Signature Event: The annual Love Our Libraries Author Luncheon draws 650 library supporters to enjoy an internationally acclaimed author while raising critical funds to strengthen our libraries.
