Sarasota doesn’t just support the arts – it is the arts. Helping lead its evolution as a world-class cultural destination is Tania Castroverde Moskalenko, a visionary with over 20 years of experience at the helm of renowned arts and cultural institutions.

As CEO of the Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation, Tania is advancing its mission of bringing to life the Sarasota Performing Arts Center – where inspiring and impactful creative experiences will bring the community together.

A native of Havana, Cuba, who was raised in Miami, Tania is a lifelong champion for accessible arts and culture for all. Her leadership has shaped storied institutions such as Chicago’s historic Auditorium Theatre, Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts in Indiana, and Miami City Ballet, over the course of her career. Now, in Sarasota, Tania is calling on every individual, every organization – every believer in the power of the arts – to join her in building a cultural legacy that will inspire, educate, and bring people together for generations to come.

About the Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation

  • The mission of the Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation, formerly the Van Wezel Foundation, is to create and sustain a vibrant performing arts center, advance education, and enrich communities by inspiring minds through the power of the arts.
  • Our vision is for Sarasota to be the preeminent destination for the performing arts by creating a state-of-the-art cultural anchor – the Sarasota Performing Arts Center – through a 50/50 public-private partnership, which will have a $194 million annual economic impact.
  • The arts are for everybody, which is why our founding commitment is to educate and impact the community through programs that build self-esteem and confidence, challenge perspectives, foster relationships, spark imagination, and create empathy.
