Jennifer Compton is the Managing Partner and Chair of the Management Committee at Shumaker—making history as the first person to hold the role of Managing Partner for the entire firm. As a trailblazing leader of the national Am Law 200 firm, Jennie brings strategic vision, legal insight, and a deep commitment to both client service and community impact.

A proud Sarasota native, Jennie currently chairs the Board of Directors for The Bay Park Conservancy (The Bay), leading the transformation of The Bay. She is also a Founding Board Member and Vice Chair of Gulfside Bank. Her previous leadership includes serving as President and Board Member of Girls Inc. of Sarasota County and as a Board and Executive Committee Member of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce.

Jennie is the driving force behind Shumaker’s Make a Difference through Literacy initiative, which she founded to unite the firm around a shared mission to give back through literacy. Under her leadership, the initiative aims to impact one million lives by 2026—reflecting her deep belief in the power of education to transform communities.
