Sunshine from Darkness was created to help those in need get support without fear or shame, whether that help is to shore up your foundation or you are struggling through a crisis. Our mission is to support mental health research as well as host mental wellness programs aimed at ensuring the vitality of our whole community’s mental wellness, especially within the youth population of the Gulf Coast.

• We envision a safe, compassionate, and vibrant community that embraces diversity, strives for everyone to be healthy and secure, and creates opportunities for work and play for all.

• In 2024, SFD launched a Youth Resiliency Pilot Program with the Boys & Girls Club of Sarasota and Desoto Counties.

• Fundraisers continue to empower the success and growth of our Youth Program.

• SFD’s Blue Door Services provide useful tools and resources to help people cope with their stress and triggers.
