Here's Who's Coming to the Next PINC Local on Nov. 4
PINC Local, the new speaker series from DreamLarge, returns to the Sarasota Art Museum next Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m. with a lineup of speakers you won't want to miss.
An extension of the annual PINC Experience—which takes place at the Sarasota Opera House on Dec. 11 and brings to town international speakers who focus on ideas around people, nature and community—PINC Local is a way to keep the conference's buzzy momentum going throughout the year. The series spotlights the stories of people doing amazing work in our own backyard, reshaping the way we see our community.
Here's who's speaking on Nov. 4.
Jasmin Graham
Jasmin Graham is a marine scientist and educator whose work bridges research, advocacy, and inclusion. Through her leadership at Minorities in Shark Sciences, the organization she founded to bring marine biology to underrepresented students, Graham is redefining what science looks like and who it includes. Last year, she published her memoir Sharks Don’t Sink: Adventures of a Rogue Shark Scientist, and she's been featured on National Geographic, PBS Terra, StarTalk and more.
Phil Mancini
If you've ever attended a catered event in Sarasota, you've likely had Michael's On East's food—which means you have a connection to its co-proprietor Phil Mancini. Mancini has spent more than four decades in the fine dining and events industry and he's a local legend. Over the course of his career, he's helmed top restaurants, won 28 consecutive AAA Four Diamond awards and supported more than 500 nonprofits through in-kind donations and partnerships—but he began his career washing dishes in Rhode Island.
Jessica Hays
Jessica Hays is the president and CEO of SPARCC, which provides survivor, and prevention programs for victims of domestic violence, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties’ only certified domestic and sexual violence center. The former chair of the Florida Partnership to End Domestic Violence, over the course of her career she's advocated for systemic change at every level.
Terri Thayer
Terri Thayer’s life trajectory includes a career as an international brand ambassador for Revlon, aviation industry entrepreneur and realtor, participating in a global rescue mission relocating orphaned from Zimbabwe to Florida, and working as a philanthropist, mentor and community connector.
