Another Van Wezel show, this one offers the new-age musical ensemble’s annual holiday tour after a hiatus last year due to Covid-19. Venice Symphony: Brahms and the Boys

The symphony opens its season with Brahms’ Symphony No. 4 in E Minor; also on the program, at Venice Performing Arts Center, are “God Only Knows,” Smetana’s Overture from The Bartered Bride, and Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto in E-Flat Major, with Los Angeles Philharmonic principal trumpet Thomas Hooten doing the honors. Visions of the Black Experience

If you haven’t yet viewed any of the films being screened, both in-person and online, for this film festival, you still have a chance to do so through Sunday. The event, a collaboration between the Sarasota Film Festival, the Boxser Diversity Initiative, New College, the Multicultural Health Institute and Manasota ASALH, presents a wide range of films touching on the Black experience, including documentaries and narratives; check it out at sarasotafilmfestival.com.

Venice Theatre: Assisted Living the Musical: The Home for the Holidays

Englewood Beach Waterfest
