From Taste of Pride to parades to best-dressed-pet contests, fly your flag high at these Pride events.

Gay Group Happy Hour (G2H2)

Starts June 3 and continues the first Thursday of every month

A monthly happy hour at a new location throughout Sarasota provides the community with an opportunity to meet, network, and chill from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Part of the goal is to spotlight businesses that are LGBTQ+-friendly and welcome the community. Sign-up here to register and stay updated on upcoming locations.

Pride Car Parade

June 5

From 11 a.m. to noon, roll down Main Street in style for the second Project Pride SRQ Car Pride Parade. There's no entry fee; just decorate your ride in your best pride gear and colors and register to win a prize. The parade ends at The Reserve with a cupcake and sweet treat social. Pride Concert

June 5

Diversity: The Voices of Sarasota bring an evening of song by LGBTQ+ composers and singers, featuring pianist Bruce Ensinger. The concert is free and open to the public; it will take place from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at The Reserve. Donations are welcome. Masks and social distancing are required.

Ride for Pride Parade  

June 5 

This daytime family-friendly event invites participants to deck out their cars and display their flags in a pride procession. The parade runs through downtown Venice and starts at 1 p.m. Click here to view the map and here to volunteer or register.

Taste of Pride 

June 6 through 19

Participating businesses feature a discount, prix fixe menu, or free item to celebrate Pride Month. (Some locations are even adding rainbow items to their menu.) Organizers of Project Pride encourage diners to mention "Taste of Pride" when ordering, to take pics of their dishes and to and tag #projectpridesrq and #tasteofpridesrq to spread the love. If your business would like to participate, click here

Southwest Florida LGBTQ+ Book Club

June 9

Meet monthly to discuss books written by LGBTQ+ authors. Reading the book isn’t required, but participants are asked to have open mind and willingness to learn and discuss a variety of topics. The book club currently takes place on Zoom; log on at 7 p.m. here.

Pride Night at LECOM Park

June 11

Fly your flags high and cheer on the Bradenton Marauders after enjoying happy hour from 5-6 p.m. The baseball kicks off at 6:05 p.m. Click here for tickets. 

Big Gay Beach Party 4

June 12

What started as a small gathering in 2018 has grown into a party that attracts people from far and wide. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., this free event on North Lido beach is slated to draw hundreds of people, according to its Facebook event page.

Pet Parade

June 13

Deck out your fur babies in their best pride gear at Bayfront Park, then strut around the bay from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. ​The best-dressed pet wins a prize.

Beneva Fruitville’s Drag Queen Bingo Bonanza

June 13

Laugh a lot—and get a little raunchy—at McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre for drag queen bingo with Sarasota’s Beneva Fruitville from 8 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Purchase tickets here.
