Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe Celebrates Theater Grand Opening
On Feb. 10, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) celebrated the grand opening of its newly renovated theater, now known as the Gerri Aaron & The Aaron Family Foundation Theatre Building. In attendance were WBTT leaders and supporters, civic and foundation leaders, and representatives from C. Alan Anderson Architect, P.A., and Willis Smith Construction. Guests enjoyed refreshments and a ceremonial ribbon cutting, before gathering in the mainstage Donelly Theatre for acknowledgements of those who contributed to the $8.7 million dollar Heart & Soul capital campaign, as well as a performance featuring popular WBTT artists and Stage of Discovery students. WBTT's Heart & Soul capital campaign funded renovations to both buildings on its campus, as well as improvements to the parking lot and grounds.
