Ghostly goings-on in an old English manor house are the subject of Henry Miller’s classic story, presented as a modern adaptation by Dog Days Theatre to chill our hot, hot summer. Through Aug. 26 in the FSU Center’s intimate Cook Theatre. 

The Ringling presents VOLUMES

Aug. 12-Sept. 9

Drumroll, please: Artist Ezra Masch unites light and sound—and a drum set wired with microphones—to create an immersive piece of performance art in the Ringling Museum’s Monda Gallery. More than 50 area drummers have volunteered to play the drum set daily during the exhibition’s run, and four renowned drummers will give mini-performances Aug. 16, 23 and 30, and also Sept. 6.  It’s all part of the museum’s intriguing Art of our Time initiative. 

Woodstock Revival at the Downtown Sarasota Farmers Market

A best-dressed hippie couple contest, free peace sign painting, a vintage VW show, live music by Paisley Craze—it’s all there and more from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the second annual Sarasota Farmers Market Woodstock Revival. The first 50 kids under 16 accompanied by an adult get a free bike helmet, thanks to the Friends of the Legacy Trail. Groovy.

Moonlight Movie at Benderson Park: Raiders of the Lost Ark

Indiana Jones to the rescue in a free outdoor screening of the film classic, brought to us by ther Sarasota Film Festival and the good folks at Nathan Benderson Park.
