A fully improvised play in the style of Tennessee Williams? A musical made up on the spot with a suggestion from the audience? That’s just some of the comedy madness going on at Florida Studio Theatre this month, when the 10th annual Sarasota Improv Festival celebrates the art of improv. Companies from all over the country (and the world, with one from France and one from Spain) will demonstrate their particular styles, with Impro Madrid, Baby Wants Candy and Impro Theatre the headliners. Also on board: ImprovBoston, Orange Tuxedo, Available Cupholders, Dad’s Garage and more, including FST’s own improv troupe. It all starts July 12 and keeps audiences laughing right through the “All Play” finale July 14, which brings every single festival performer to the stage at the same time. Single, two-day and three-day passes available; call 366-9000 or visit floridastudiotheatre.org.
