The Banyan Theater Company presents Rajiv Joseph’s Animals Out of Paper, a funny/sad piece about experts in the art of origami (paper folding) who don’t do so well in the arts of loving and living. Ringling College’s Selby Gallery takes a look at art from Asia with Hanging in the Balance: Ten Emerging Chinese Artists, on view Aug. 12 through Sept. 17. The show offers mostly video works on display, with some drawings, photos of installations and small three-dimensional objects by these up-and-coming artists. 359-7563.
