Manatee County School Board member Scott Hopes will replace Cheri Coryea as Manatee County Administrator on an interim basis. Hopes, whose $187,000 contract was approved by a 6-1 vote, replaces interim county administrator Karen Stewart and will be responsible for overseeing the county’s 1,900 employees and implementing the Manatee Board of County Commissioners’ policy decisions. He will remain a member of the school board until Gov. Ron DeSantis appoints a replacement.
