With Sarasota's reputation as a beach destination, the Salt Life brand was bound to pop up sometime. Now it has—in the most sensible of locations: St. Armands Circle.

The store opened last month, just in time for our region's annual spike of visitors on a mission to trade in their winter boots for flip-flops. St. Armands Circle is roughly a mile from Lido Beach, making it an ideal location for Salt Life's sweatshirts, swim trunks, Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses and more.

"Sarasota’s vibrant community and beautiful landscape have served as an inspiration for Salt Life since its inception," says the brand's president Jeff Stillwell. "Both residents and visitors of this area have a passion for salty outdoor activities of all kinds, and we look forward to engaging with them face-to-face in our new retail space."

The brand's customary use of lightweight materials has its clothing keeping men, women and kids cool on blazing beach days and fishing trips, and their unmistakable decals, which you'll often see on cars, let others know you'd rather be at the beach. At the 2,800-square-foot St. Armands store, you'll also find Tervis Tumblers (made right down the road in Venice) and towels.

It's the 15th Salt Life store to hit the map nationwide, and Sarasota is just one of the locations it aims to open this year, including others in Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale, where endless summers also rule.

Salt Life is located at 16 S. Boulevard of the Presidents on St. Armands Circle. For more information, click here.
