CareerEdge Funders Collaborative recently began partnering with educational institutions to provide short-term programs that more quickly help individuals find apprenticeship-based occupations. To assist aspiring auto mechanics, CareerEdge is partnering with Suncoast Technical College and Gettel Automotive to recruit entry-level automotive technician trainees for jobs at Gettel's six service centers in Sarasota and Bradenton, in combination with an express training program. Gettel will hire individuals with no experience at $12 per hour for full- or part-time trainee positions. After the trainees attend a mandatory 10-week training program, they will be paid $13 per hour, with benefits.
